More April snow follows this major one-day warm-up in Ontario

Less than a day after 3-4 cm of snow blasted through the GTA, a temperature jump to 20°C is forecast Thursday.

Following a messy day of ice, snow, as well as very heavy rain and loud thunder on Wednesday, Ontario's latest spring storm will finally dry out by Thursday morning.

Clearer skies and warm air from the south are forecast in the wake of the spring storm. Southerly winds could remain breezy into Thursday, gusting to 50-60+ km/h. However, they will help to bring in very mild temperatures by the late afternoon.

Sorry, no sustained warm weather is in sight

The warm up will be brief, however. Winds shift by Friday to a more seasonal 8-10°C. And the roller coaster of spring weather continues with additional rainfall chances this weekend.

Early next week will be very cold, with temperatures more typical of early March and flurries and bands of lake-effect snow returning. The cold pattern will relax late week, but no sustained warm weather is in sight.
